An earthquake measuring 6,2 on the Richter scale shook the Japanese island of Hokkaido today, but so far there are no reports of damage or injuries.
The Japan Meteorological Agency said the 136-kilometer-deep earthquake hit the southwestern part of Hokkaido.
As reported by Tanjug, no tsunami warning has been issued, nor have problems been reported in nuclear power plants, interruptions in electricity supply or high-speed train traffic in that area.
