Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was discharged today from the Sheba Medical Center near Tel Aviv after spending the night there due to dehydration.
The hospital said doctors ran him through a series of tests and found no abnormalities, although he was fitted with a heart monitor to further monitor his health.
"Our diagnosis at the end of all the tests performed, including laboratory ones, is that the reason for the hospitalization was dehydration," the hospital statement stated.
The medical center also said the prime minister's heart was "completely normal" and that he had undergone a series of comprehensive and routine tests while fully conscious, including the heart's electrical function, with all results normal, Israeli media reported.
As stated, the implanted medical device will "allow the prime minister's close medical professional team to continue regular monitoring".
It was also stated that no arrhythmia was recorded at any time and the doctors decided to use a subcutaneous holter.
Netanyahu, 73, was admitted to a hospital in Ramat Gan on Saturday afternoon, reportedly in the cardiology ward.
The statement from the hospital was given after criticism due to the fact that information about Netanyahu's state of health is given by the hospital only in coordination with the prime minister's cabinet.
Israel's public broadcaster Khan reported that unnamed officials were unhappy with the political and medical system due to a lack of transparency.
The first statement from Netanyahu's cabinet after he was admitted to hospital said he complained of dizziness after spending several hours in the sun on Friday amid a heat wave in Israel.
A few hours later, in a statement from Netanyahu's cabinet, it was written that, on the recommendation of the doctor, he would remain in the hospital overnight for observation.
Netanyahu said in a video message from the hospital last night, where he is undergoing further tests, that he was feeling "very well" and that he had become dehydrated on a trip to the Sea of Galilee on Friday, where he went "without a hat and water".
He was transported to the hospital in a convoy of vehicles from his home in Caesarea on the Mediterranean coast where he was spending the weekend.
He was said to be fully conscious and walking unaided.
The Hebrew-language media previously, citing a medical source, reported that he briefly lost consciousness and fell, and that he hit his head hard when he fell.
They also reported that he felt pain in his chest.
Israeli President Isaac Herzog, opposition leader Yair Lapid and other politicians wished Netanyahu a speedy recovery and good health.
Those wishes were joined by the Speaker of the House of Representatives of the US Congress, Kevin McCarthy, among others, for which Netanyahu thanked.
Netanyahu, who has served as prime minister for the longest time in Israel's history, does not have an official deputy, the Times of Israel notes.
When he underwent a routine colonoscopy in January, he assigned a fellow minister to replace him.
