The chief judge of Iran's Fars province, Kazem Mousavi, said on August 14 that a Tajik national was behind the deadly attack on the Shah Cheragh shrine that took place a day earlier in the city of Shiraz.
According to Mousavi, eight foreign nationals were arrested on suspicion of being involved in an attack on a Shiite shrine in which one person was killed and several others were wounded.
"The main suspect introduced himself as Rahmatulo Noruzov, and he is a citizen of Tajikistan," Mousavi emphasized.
Tajik officials have not yet commented on Mousavi's allegations.
In October 2022, 13 people were killed and dozens were injured in an attack on Shah Cherag.
