Former US President Donald Trump, a candidate in the Republican primaries, criticized the "rigged" indictment accusing him of attempting to manipulate the 2020 presidential election in the state of Georgia, reports Radio Free Europe.
"Looks rigged to me," said Trump, who is campaigning for the Republican primary to win back the White House in 2024, in a message posted on his Truthsocial social network.
"Why didn't they press charges 2,5 years ago? Because they wanted to do it in the middle of my political campaign. A witch hunt," he added.
A grand jury in the US state of Georgia has indicted Trump for trying to overturn his loss to Democrat Joseph Biden in the 2020 election.

It is the fourth criminal indictment against the 45th US president and the second accusing him of trying to change the results of the 2020 election.
The charges, filed by Fulton County District Attorney Fanny Willis, are the latest in a string of legal problems for Trump.
Prosecutors filed 11 counts of indictment against Trump and his associates, including forgery and racketeering, which are used against members of organized crime groups.
