Fourteen people died in a plane crash in the Brazilian state of Amazonas, local authorities announced this morning.
Twelve passengers and two crew members died in the accident near the tourist town of Barcelos, Amazonas state governor Wilson Lima wrote to the X network.
The media reported that the plane was an EMB-110, a twin-engine turboprop from the Brazilian manufacturer Embraer. He was flying from Manaus to Barcelos.
The passengers were Brazilian nationals headed to the Amazon region to engage in sport fishing.
