Commander, a two-year-old German shepherd belonging to the family of US President Joseph Biden, bit another Secret Service agent.
The attack, as reported by the BBC, took place on Monday evening, and the officer was treated on the spot, according to a statement from the Secret Service on Tuesday.
This is the 11th time a dog has bitten a guard at the White House or the home of the Biden family.
The White House press secretary previously blamed the stress of life in the White House for the attacks.
"As you all know, the White House complex can be unique and very stressful. That's something I'm sure you can all understand. "T is unique and stressful for all of us. So you can imagine what it's like for a family pet or family pets, more broadly," she said in July.
The commander is the younger of the two German shepherds of the Biden family.
Other bite incidents occurred at the home of the president and first lady in the US state of Delaware.
"Yesterday at approximately 20:XNUMX p.m., a Secret Service uniformed officer came into contact with the First Family's pet and was bitten," said Secret Service spokesman Anthony Guglielmi.
He later told CNN that the injured officer had spoken with Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle on Tuesday and was doing well.
In July, White House officials said they were trying new restraint and training techniques for the Commander, after a spate of attacks on staff.
