UNICEF: Boko Haram uses children as "human bombs"

The terrorist organization Boko Haram has dramatically increased the use of children in suicide attacks on civilians in Nigeria, UNICEF said.

This is a fourfold increase in the number of children committing suicide attacks, which are common in Nigeria in the last eight years, according to Tanjug.

It was stated that Boko Haram used 83 children as "human bombs" this year, mostly girls.

Unicef ​​said that such attacks cause fear among residents, especially among children who have been released, rescued or who have fled from Boko Haram and similar terrorist groups.

Girls carried out 55 attacks and were mostly under the age of 15, while boys participated in 27 attacks. It is said that one of the girls was carrying a baby when she committed suicide.

Last year, Boko Haram used 19 children for suicide attacks.
