At least four people were killed and around 50 were injured today in a bomb attack during a mass in the southern Philippines, local authorities said.
The blast occurred during a mass held at the Mindanao State University gymnasium in Marawi, the country's largest Muslim city, regional police chief Alan Nobleza said.
An improvised explosive device was used in the attack, for which no group claimed responsibility.
Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos condemned the senseless attack, which he said was carried out by foreign terrorists.
Mindanao State University condemned the violence and expressed solidarity with the Christian community and the victims of the "tragedy."
Classes have been suspended and additional security has been deployed around the university.
