Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu assessed that the determination shown by the US, Great Britain and France, punishing Syrian President Bashar al-Assad for the alleged use of chemical weapons, should be shown in preventing terrorist states and organizations from achieving nuclear capability.
He said at today's session of the Government of Israel that he conveyed this to his British counterpart, Theresa May, in a conversation on Saturday evening.
Netanyahu alluded to Iran, according to Israeli media, and they remind that US President Donald Trump gave France, Great Britain and Germany until May 12 to fix the nuclear agreement with Iran, signed in 2015.
If it is not amended satisfactorily, Trump has warned that he will withdraw from the agreement.
The Israeli leader reiterated that his country fully supports Trump's decision to act against the use of chemical weapons, adding that it praised the participation of France and Great Britain in the operation.
"It is an important international message, which was given by the attack, that there is no tolerance for the use of unconventional weapons. I added that it is necessary to apply this policy in preventing terrorist states and organizations from acquiring nuclear capabilities," Netanyahu said.
He also warned that Iran is the main source of instability in the region and that Assad must understand that when he allows that country and its allies to establish themselves militarily in Syria, it puts Syria and the entire region at risk.
