Security camera footage taken outside a house in the West Bank city of Tulkarm shows Israeli security forces vehicles repeatedly running over the body of a Palestinian who was shot during a raid by Israeli forces, reports Reuters.
Israel's border police said the vehicle inadvertently ran over the body after it came to extract Israeli forces it said came under heavy fire, adding that the incident was being looked into.
The footage emerged after border police said on Monday that their commandos had raided Tulkarm to arrest a wanted militant and had killed three Palestinian gunmen in the encounter.
The Palestinian Foreign Ministry issued a statement condemning the incident, which it said reflected a "culture of hatred and extremism."
The Tulkarm Brigades, an armed militant group linked to Fatah, which leads the internationally recognized Palestinian Authority, claimed that one of the Palestinians killed on Monday was a member.
Tulkarm, the location of one of the main crossing points between the West Bank and Israel, has seen constant raids by Israeli security forces since Hamas attacked Israel on October 7.
Hamas, which governs Gaza, is a rival of Fatah.
