At least 18 people have been killed and more than 30 injured in a landslide in Colombia, officials said.
The landslide cut off the busy highway that connects the cities of Quibo and Medellin, in the west of Colombia.
According to the National Disaster Management Office, at least 35 injured have been transferred to different hospitals.
A search operation has been announced for the missing who are probably still under the ruins.
The cause of the landslide is not yet known.
The Ministry of Defense said, however, that heavy rains are falling in the area, making rescue operations difficult.
President Gustavo Petro wrote on IX that the authorities will provide all the necessary support because of what he said was a "terrible tragedy".
