Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, who is expected to run for a third term in presidential elections later this year, told thousands of supporters in Caracas today that "the people in power will win."
"We are the people in power... We will win one way or another," Maduro, dressed in a red shirt, told thousands of supporters celebrating the 32nd anniversary of February 4, 1992, the date of the failed coup by former President Hugo Chavez (1999-2013 ), whose successor was named Maduro.
"Whenever and wherever (elections) are held, people are organized to win," Maduro said.
On Monday, Parliament Speaker Jorge Rodríguez called on political actors and members of civil society to decide on the date of the presidential elections.
