At least 48 people died after the collapse of a part of the highway in China, in the southern province of Guangdong, state media reported a new account of the accident.
The collapse occurred as a result of heavy rains that have hit the country in recent days.
CCTV reported that the collapse was the result of a "natural geological disaster" due to "persistent heavy rains".
"At least 48 people died," reported Xinhua in a new account of the accident.
Authorities have dispatched 500 people to help rescue survivors after the crash, which happened between Tuesday and Wednesday night, local time.
