The balloon war between the two Koreas intensified after activists from the South sent balloons containing anti-North Korean propaganda across the border.

A group of people who have defected from North to South Korea, who are gathered in the Free North Korea movement, announced that they launched ten large balloons with over 200 leaflets criticizing the regime of Kim Jong Un. The balloons also carry US dollars and flash drives containing K-pop music, the movement said, as reported by the Guardian.

Tensions on the border rose last week when North Korea launched nearly 1,000 balloons carrying trash, cigarette butts and excrement toward South Korea, in protest against groups that use similar means to spread information critical of the Kim regime and positive messages about life in the North. to the south.

North Korea has reportedly agreed to halt balloon flights after the South warned it would take "unbearable measures", including resuming propaganda and playing pop music over a network of loudspeakers set up along the border's demilitarized zone.
