Three people were killed and eight were injured in the US when a truck plowed into a group of people celebrating Independence Day in New York, authorities said.
Of the eight injured persons, three are life-threatening, three suffered serious injuries, and two minor injuries.
The accident happened last night, when a truck drove through an intersection at high speed, despite having a stop sign, and ran into a park in Manhattan, police said.
New York City Mayor Eric Adams said investigators do not believe the incident was an act of terrorism.
Police said they tested the driver of the truck for alcohol, which is believed to have played a role in the accident.
