The Lebanese Shia movement Hezbollah evacuated its positions in the country, after Israel threatened to "attack it with force", in retaliation for the rocket attack on the annexed Golan Heights, a source close to Hezbollah told France Press today.
Israel vowed to "attack the enemy with force" a day after an attack on the Golan that it blamed on Hezbollah.
The attack killed 12 people and raised fears of a widening conflict amid the war between Israeli forces and the Palestinian movement Hamas in the Gaza Strip.
Hezbollah, which denied responsibility for the attack, "evacuated certain positions in the south and east that could be a target for Israel," a Hezbollah source close to Iran said.
