The rocket attack on the Golan Heights created the possibility of further expansion of the war in the Middle East.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan threatened Israel with military intervention - and an immediate response came from Israel.
"As we entered Nagorno-Karabakh, as we entered Libya, we will do the same with them," he said at an event of his ruling AKP party in Rize on the Black Sea.
Erdogan referred to the conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh, where, among other things, he supported Azerbaijan as a conflicting party with drones.
In Libya, a country in civil war, Ankara provides military equipment and personnel to support the internationally recognized government.
The tabloid Bild writes: "The Turkish ruler is constantly openly siding with the Palestinian terrorists Hamas. He is silent on the gruesome crimes of the terrorists since October 7, 2023, in which 1.200 people were killed and hundreds more were kidnapped and taken to Gaza."
It is the same now. Erdogan praised the progress of Turkey's military industry and demanded that Turkey become even stronger. There is nothing we cannot do - we just need to be strong, he said.
"Recently, Erdogan has been constantly inciting the public against Israel and insulting Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in an anti-Semitic manner," states tabloid Bild.
The daily Cite Online states that "since the beginning of the war in Gaza, relations between Israel and Turkey have drastically deteriorated. Erdogan refers to the Islamist Hamas as a "liberation organization" and compared Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to Adolf Hitler. In mid-July, Erdogan said that his country will no longer approve cooperation between NATO and Israel until sustainable peace is established in the Palestinian territories."
All the media that wrote about Erdogan's statements also reported the words of the Israeli Minister of Foreign Affairs, Israel Katz, who said regarding the Turkish president's statement:
"Erdogan continues where Saddam Hussein left off and threatens to attack Israel. Let him just remember what happened there and how Saddam ended," Kac wrote on the X platform.
In 2003, US troops marched into Iraq. The military intervention led to the overthrow of the then Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein. Three years later, Hussein was executed for the massacre of Kurds and Shiites.
Since the war began, relations between Israel and Turkey have deteriorated drastically. Erdogan called Hamas a "liberation organization" and compared Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu to Hitler.
In mid-July, Erdogan declared that his country would no longer approve cooperation between NATO and its partner country Israel until a sustainable peace was achieved in the Palestinian territories. The latest threats of the Turkish head of state are directly related to the fear of the growing danger of war in the Middle East."
Waiter stat-ancajger - like a number of other dailies - conveyed the words of an expert on Turkey and Islam, Eren Guverčin, who says that the threat of the Turkish president should not be taken seriously: "When Erdogan speaks without a teleprompter, the real Erdogan comes to light," he wrote. Guverčin also on platform X. And he added: "Just as Putin has been making no secret of what goals he is pursuing for years, neither has Erdogan made a secret of his goals. And just like in the case of Putin, Europe is making the same mistake and not listening carefully."
