Families of hostages detained in the Gaza Strip today accused Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of "targeted killing" of the proposed agreement on the release of their relatives kidnapped and detained in the Palestinian territory.
They issued a press release outside Israel's military headquarters in Tel Aviv ahead of protests that take place every Saturday, demanding that the agreement be finally concluded.
"There is an agreement on the table and Netanyahu is carrying out a targeted killing of it," said Ejnav Cangauker, whose son Matan was abducted by Palestinian extremists on October 7, Israeli media reported.
She alluded to the murders of the leader of the Palestinian Hamas in Tehran and the top military commander of the Lebanese Hezbollah in Beirut, for which Israel is blamed.
Cangauker accused the prime minister, she said, of choosing to drag them into escalation instead of making an agreement to save lives and prevent escalation.
In the attack of Palestinian extremists, led by Hamas, on the south of Israel, on October 7, around 1.200 people, mostly civilians, were killed and more than 250 hostages were kidnapped and taken to Gaza. After that, the war between Israel and Hamas began, which is still going on.
In the Israeli military offensive in Gaza, at least 39.550 Palestinians were killed and 91.128 were wounded, according to the data of the Ministry of Health there.
