The Palestinian Authority announced that eight people were killed today in two separate Israeli attacks in the occupied West Bank.
Four people were killed in the northern Jenin area and four in the northeastern Tubas district in dawn raids by Israeli forces, the Palestinian Red Cross and the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Ramallah said.
On the other hand, the Israeli army announced that it carried out airstrikes targeting "armed terrorist cells" in the Jenin area, without giving information on the casualties.
The Palestinian Red Cross said four people were killed and three wounded, one of whom was in critical condition after, it said, the occupier bombed two vehicles in the eastern quarter of Jenin.
The Ministry of Health in Ramallah announced separately that four people were killed and seven wounded in the city of Aqaba, in Tubas district.
Locals in Aqaba said Israeli forces arrived at dawn and surrounded Amid Ganam's house, leading to clashes between soldiers and youths in the area.
Ganam and two other people died in the clashes, and one young man at the hospital, Tubas Governor Ahmed Asad told AFP.
The mayor of Aqaba, Abdelrazak Abura, said that the young man was killed "in cold blood".
"That Zionist crime is one of the systematic crimes that Israelis commit every day," he added.
The West Bank, a Palestinian territory occupied by Israel in 1967, has seen an increase in violence in the last two years, which was further intensified by the war in the Gaza Strip, launched on October 7 by the attack of the Islamist Palestinian Hamas on Israeli soil.
Since the start of the Gaza war, at least 612 Palestinians have been killed in the West Bank by Israeli soldiers or settlers, according to the Palestinian Authority, while at least 17 Israelis, including soldiers, have been killed in Palestinian attacks, according to Israeli official figures.
