The death toll from the collapse of a large garbage dump in Kampala, Uganda's capital, has risen to 23, and the search for survivors continues.
"According to the latest data, 23 people were killed," said the spokesperson of the city authorities.
Houses, people and livestock were buried by landslides caused by heavy rains.
Kampala Mayor Erijas Lukwago said the 14-hectare Kitezi landfill is overcrowded.
In the previous report, there were 19 deaths, including five children.
