A burglary was reported at presidential candidate Donald Trump's Virginia campaign office last weekend, and police are investigating whether anything was stolen.
The burglary occurred Sunday at an Ashburn office leased by Trump's campaign headquarters, which also serves as the headquarters of the Virginia 10th District Republican Committee, according to a statement from the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office in Northern Virginia.
The sheriff's office was contacted around 9:00 p.m. Sunday.
The office said it has surveillance video showing the burglar wearing dark clothing with a dark hat and carrying a backpack, and the investigation is ongoing.
"It is rare to break into the office of any political party. We are determined to identify the suspect, investigate why this happened and determine what may have been taken, as well as what may have been left behind," the local police said.
Trump's campaign staff and the 10th District Republican Committee did not immediately comment on the case.
