Governor of the American state of Minnesota, Tim Walz, and Senator from the state of Ohio, JD Vance, have agreed to hold a vice-presidential debate on October 1, at the same time that early voting for the general election begins in some states.
CBS News reported that the network has invited Vance and Volz to debate in New York, offering four dates: September 17, September 24, October 1 and October 8.
Volc posted this message from his campaign account,
"See you on October 1st, JD".
The Harris-Wolz campaign continued with a message saying that Volz is looking forward to a debate with Vance, "if he shows up."
Vens has announced that he will accept the invitation for October 1st. He also invited Volc to debate on September 18 on CNN.
There was a question of whether Volz and Vance would have a debate before the Nov. 5 election. In just the past few weeks, US President Joseph Biden withdrew his candidacy, and the Democrats chose Vice President Kamala Harris to be their running mate.
Vance focused mostly on Harris, who he was scheduled to debate before Biden left the race.
Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has said he wants Vance to have a debate with Volz on CBS, which has been offering potential dates for the meeting. September on ABC News.
Trump said he negotiated several other dates with three different networks. Fox News has also suggested that the Harris-Trump debate take place on September 4th, with NBC planning for September 25th.
Harris said in Michigan that she is looking forward to an additional debate.
