Today, Russia banned 92 American citizens from entering its territory, including journalists from several major media outlets, due to the spread of "false information" about the Russian army fighting in Ukraine.
"Entry to Russia is permanently closed to 92 American citizens - representatives of the business world, researchers, cultural figures, journalists and media figures," the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.
Employees of the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal and the Washington Post are included in this list, which already includes hundreds of other citizens of the US and other Western countries.
Moscow accuses these journalists of being "involved in the production and dissemination of false information about Russia and the Russian armed forces" and of participating in a "hybrid war launched by Washington."
Members of the military, university professors, business executives, politicians and members of the US justice system were also on the list that was published.
Relations between Moscow and Washington are at their lowest level since the start of the Russian offensive in Ukraine in February 2022, which the Kremlin considers an indirect conflict between Russia and NATO.
The United States is the most important military and financial support of Kiev.
The West has adopted numerous economic and financial sanctions against Russia, targeting its officials, banking system, military industry, airlines and a number of other sectors.
