A large, colorful hot air balloon touched power lines in the city of Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA on Monday, causing a short circuit that left 13.000 customers of a major electric company without power, authorities said.
Monday was the third day of the 52nd annual Albuquerque International Balloon Fest.
The state's largest electricity supplier, the New Mexico Public Service Company, announced that power was restored soon.
The organizers of the festival said that no one was injured, that the balloon continued its flight undamaged and later landed safely.
The balloon festival is one of the most photographed events in the world. Every fall, it attracts hundreds of thousands of people to New Mexico eager to see the flight of more than 100 large balloons of unusual shapes and colors.
