South Korean Defense Minister Kim Jong-hyun said today that it is "very likely" that there were North Korean soldiers killed in Ukraine, where they were sent to help Russia.
Ukrainian media reported over the weekend that six North Korean officers were killed in a Ukrainian missile attack near Donetsk, in eastern Ukraine.
"We assess it as very likely that there were casualties among North Korean officers and soldiers in Ukraine," a South Korean minister told parliament in Seoul.
South Korea expects Pyongyang to send more troops to the Ukrainian front in support of Russia, which launched a military operation against Ukraine in 2022.
