The Deputy US Ambassador to the United Nations (UN) Robert Wood announced today during the session of the UN Security Council that about 8.000 North Korean soldiers are in the Russian region of Kursk near the border with Ukraine and are preparing to join the fight against Ukrainian troops.
Wood again condemned the increasing military cooperation between Russia and North Korea.
"And I have a question for my Russian colleague: does Russia still claim that there are no North Korean troops in Russia? That is my only question and the last point," he said.
The representative of Russia at the Council session, Vasilij Nebenzja, who was called by Russia to discuss international peace and security, did not respond to the comment and the session was interrupted.
