In Pakistan today, at least 22 people died in an explosion at the main railway station in Baluchistan, a province in the southwestern part of the country, according to police and medical sources.
"22 people have been killed so far, we are working to determine the nature of the explosion," the police said, adding that the number of victims could be higher.
The official of the regional hospital in Keta, for his part, said that 46 injured people were admitted.
The explosion occurred around 8.45:XNUMX a.m. local time at the central station of Keta, the capital of Balochistan, on the border with Afghanistan and Iran, where passengers were waiting on the platform.
Balochistan is the largest but also the poorest province of Pakistan, despite significant gas and mining resources. The separatists are active in that province.
Many of the exploitation projects are financed and run by foreign countries, especially China, which armed separatist factions regularly point the finger at, accusing them of hoarding wealth without sharing it with the local population.
One of them, the Balochistan Liberation Army, regularly claims to carry out deadly attacks on police and Pakistanis from other provinces.
