The newly elected President of the USA Donald Trump announced on his social network Truth Social after the Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau resigned.
"Many people in Canada would love to be the 51st country. The United States can no longer tolerate the huge trade deficits and subsidies that Canada needs to survive. Justin Trudeau knew that and resigned. If Canada merged with the U.S. , there would be no tariffs, taxes would be much lower, and they would be completely safe from the dangers of Russian and Chinese ships that constantly surround them, what a great nation that would be," Trump wrote.
Trudeau has announced that he intends to step down, but will remain in office until the ruling Liberal Party chooses his replacement.
