Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum has appealed for "cool heads" in the face of US President Donald Trump's first decisions, which directly affect her country, one of the US's main partners.
"It is important to always have a cool head and stick to signed decrees, beyond speeches," the nationalist leftist president said during her regular morning press conference.
She said Trump's executive order declaring a national emergency on the US southern border with Mexico is virtually the same as the one signed during his first term.
Regarding the renaming of the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of the Americas, she said that the US can call it that, but that it will not change what Mexico and the world call it.
