Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said today that US President Donald Trump's plan to relocate the population from the Gaza Strip is unacceptable.
"Trump's statement on Gaza is unacceptable," the minister said in an interview with the Turkish news agency Anadolu.
"The expulsion (of Palestinians) from the Gaza Strip is an issue that neither we nor the countries in the region can accept. There is no question of even discussing it," the Turkish foreign minister added.
Trump said the US would take "ownership" of the war-torn Gaza Strip, after Palestinians are displaced to other countries, and that it would develop the area economically.
Trump announced the surprise plan, the details of which he did not provide, at a joint press conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House.
