Multibillionaire and ally of US President Donald Trump, Elon Musk, agreed with Trump's special envoy for special missions Richard Grenell, who said that the Voice of America and Radio Free Europe (RFE) should be shut down.
"Radio Free Europe and Voice of America are media outlets paid for by American taxpayers. They are state-owned media outlets. Those outlets are full of far-left activists. I have been working with these journalists for decades. It is a relic of the past. We do not need state-owned media outlets," Grenell said.
In a post on the social network X, which he owns, Musk said "yes, shut them down," sharing a post by one of the users who published Grenell's statement in which he called for the shutdown of these media outlets funded by the US government.
"1. Europe is now free (if you don't count the stifling bureaucracy). Hello?? 2. Nobody listens to them anymore. 3. They're just radical leftists talking to themselves while spending a billion dollars a year of American taxpayer money," Musk wrote.
