US President Donald Trump today reaffirmed his full confidence in Elon Musk, whom he has tasked with reducing federal spending, expressing confidence that his billionaire ally will help uncover "several hundred billion dollars in fraud."
"We're going to find billions, hundreds of billions of dollars of fraud and abuse. And you know, that's why the people elected me," Trump told Fox News.
Musk, who has become close to Trump, took over the leadership of a commission to review federal spending with the aim of reducing it.
Trump said he trusts Musk and will soon ask him to review the Pentagon and Department of Education budgets.
