Ten people were killed and eight injured when a building collapsed in Egypt's capital, Cairo, state media reported.
Ambulances were sent to the scene of the accident, in the working-class neighborhood of Kerdasa in Giza.
Civil protection teams are searching for the missing person under the rubble, AFP reports.
Eyewitnesses said the collapse was caused by a gas cylinder explosion and that an investigation is underway.
Building codes in Cairo are largely not enforced, which is a major problem in a city of more than 26 million residents.
Over the past years, the Egyptian metropolis has witnessed several deadly building collapses, in some cases due to dilapidation and in others due to failure to comply with building codes.
