A bus carrying students and a truck collided on a road in southeastern Brazil, killing 12 passengers and injuring 21, authorities said today.
The truck driver, also injured, tried to flee the scene of the accident last night near Nupora, a city 370 kilometers from Sao Paulo, but was caught and hospitalized. He is charged with involuntary manslaughter and other crimes.
The footage shows that the left side of the bus was completely destroyed.
Three days of mourning have been declared in the Brazilian state of Sao Paulo due to the accident.
