A bomb explosion near a bus carrying police officers in Balochistan province in southwestern Pakistan has killed at least five people and injured 10.
The attack took place today in Naushka, a district in Balochistan.
The explosion severely damaged another bus. The dead and wounded were transported to a nearby hospital.
No one has yet claimed responsibility for the attack, but suspicion is placed on the outlawed Baloch Liberation Army, which a few days ago ambushed a train, took about 400 people hostage and killed 26 people before security forces launched an operation and killed 33 attackers.
Balochistan, which is rich in oil and minerals, is both the largest and least populated province of Pakistan. Residents belonging to the ethnic Baloch have long accused the central government of discrimination, a claim Islamabad denies. The Baloch Liberation Army is demanding independence from the central government.
