The Gaza Civil Defense said that at least 25 people were killed across the Gaza Strip in Israeli strikes today, including women and children.
Israel renewed air and ground attacks on Gaza on March 18, reigniting fighting after a two-month ceasefire that halted the 15-month war between Israel and Hamas.
"Since dawn today, Israeli airstrikes have killed 20 people and wounded dozens of others, including women and children, across the Gaza Strip," Mahmoud Bassal, a spokesman for the Civil Defense, told AFP.
In a separate statement, the Civil Defense reported five more deaths in Israeli drone strikes in Rafah.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed on Saturday to continue the war and free the hostages still being held by Hamas in Gaza, Radio Free Europe reports.
"We are at a critical stage of the campaign, and at this moment we need patience and determination to win," Netanyahu said in a statement, rejecting calls from Palestinian radicals for him to end the war and withdraw troops from Gaza.
Since Israel resumed its offensive last month, at least 1.827 people have been killed in Gaza, according to the Health Ministry in the Hamas-run territory.
The total number of people killed in the war in Gaza has reached 51.201, the majority of whom are civilians, according to the same ministry - figures that the United Nations considers credible.
Israel launched its offensive in Gaza after Hamas fighters invaded southern Israel on October 7, 2023, killing 1,2 people, mostly civilians.
During that attack, Palestinian militants kidnapped 251 people, 58 of whom are still being held captive.
