The US envoy for the war in Ukraine, Keith Kellogg, will represent America during talks on the war taking place tomorrow in London, the State Department announced.
A State Department spokeswoman first announced to Fox News this morning that US Secretary of State Marco Rubio would go to the negotiations, but later told reporters that Keith Kellogg would still go.
"Secretary Rubio is very busy," she said. Rubio participated in talks on Ukraine in Paris last Sunday.
Keith Kellogg, who was initially in charge of all issues related to the war between Kiev and Moscow, was partially replaced by Steve Witkoff, the liaison to Moscow. Witkoff was initially in charge only of the Middle East, but his responsibilities expanded. Russia considered Keith Kellogg too close to Kiev's views.
Steve Witkoff will travel to Russia this Sunday, the White House confirmed today.
US President Donald Trump "wants to see an end to this war and wants to see a stop to the killing of people on both sides," said his spokeswoman Caroline Leavitt.
"He is increasingly frustrated with both sides in this war and he has said so," she added.
