The armed wing of the Palestinian movement Hamas released a video today of a live Israeli-Hungarian hostage in Gaza, Omri Miran, kidnapped during a Hamas attack on October 7, 2023, in Israel.
In the video, which lasts less than three minutes, the hostage, who speaks Hebrew, introduces himself and asks the Israeli government to influence his release.
AFP was unable to determine the date of the shooting.
Omri Miran (48) was abducted from Kibbutz Nahal Oz where he lived, in the presence of his wife, Lichai Miran-Lavi, and their two young daughters, who were not kidnapped.
Miran also appeared in a video released by Hamas in April 2024.
In the attacks carried out by Hamas on Israel on October 7, 2023, 251 people were kidnapped. 58 hostages are still being held in the Gaza Strip, including 34 who are believed to have died in the meantime.
