Talks between China and the United States (US) to try to resolve the trade war between the two countries were suspended on Saturday and will resume on Sunday morning, an unnamed source familiar with the situation told AFP.
US Treasury Secretary Scott Besant, US Trade Representative Jameson Greer and Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng held a closed-door meeting on Saturday that lasted several hours, which was seen as an important step in resolving the dispute, China's official Xinhua News Agency reported earlier.
Previously, US President Donald Trump said he was willing to reduce recently imposed tariffs on goods from China under certain conditions.
