US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov spoke today, the State Department said, Reuters reported.
During the conversation, Rubio welcomed the prisoner exchange agreement reached during recent talks between Russia and Ukraine in Turkey, a State Department spokesman said.

The secretary also highlighted US President Donald Trump's call for an immediate ceasefire and cessation of violence in Russia's war in Ukraine, the department said.
Trump said he and Russian President Vladimir Putin will speak on Monday morning.
