South African President Cyril Ramaphosa, sitting next to Donald Trump at the White House, called today for a "reset" of bilateral relations that have been very tense since the American president's return to power.
"I am here primarily to reset US-South African relations," especially on the economic front, Ramaphosa said, despite US accusations of "genocide" against white South African farmers.
Trump played a video in front of Ramaphosa that allegedly supports the US accusation of "genocide".
"They're killing them," Trump said in front of a video showing dozens of cars in which, according to him, "entire families" of white farmers fleeing their land are hiding.
Pretoria rejects these accusations, while Washington welcomed Afrikaners labeled as "refugees" to its territory a few days ago.
