Ukraine will receive "a very large amount of military equipment" thanks to an agreement concluded between NATO and the United States, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte said today, during a meeting with Donald Trump in Washington.
Rutte specifically mentioned equipment for "air defense, missiles and ammunition," after the US president announced an agreement that would see the US sending weapons that NATO members would pay for.
Trump, for his part, threatened to impose very tough tariffs against Russia's allies if there is no agreement to end the war in Ukraine within 50 days.
"I'm disappointed in President (Russia's Vladimir) Putin, because I thought we were going to have a deal two months ago, but it doesn't seem to be happening," the US president said.
Trump added that he would therefore apply secondary tariffs to Moscow's allies.
"If we don't have a deal within 50 days, it's very simple (the tariffs) will be 100 percent, and that's it," the US president said.
