At least 14 people have died and 12 are missing in landslides and rockfalls caused by heavy rains in South Korea, authorities there said today.
Monsoon rains hit South Korea five days ago, and since then homes in many parts of the country have been flooded or buried, while thousands of people have been evacuated.
One person died today in a house collapse and another was found dead in a swollen stream in the northern city of Gapyeong, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Security said.
In the southern city of Sancheong, eight people were found dead yesterday and six were missing, according to a statement.
The ministry added that another 3.840 people were evacuated today.
The rains have mostly stopped in most of South Korea, and heavy rainfall warnings have been lifted.
