Disney announced that "Jimmy Kimmel Live" will return to air on Tuesday.
The show was pulled from the airwaves last Wednesday after Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Chairman Brendan Carr and affiliated networks threatened ABC over comments Kimmel made in a monologue about the MAGA movement's reaction to the assassination of Charlie Kirk.
"Last Wednesday, we made the decision to suspend production of the show to avoid further inflaming tensions at an emotional time for our country," a spokesperson for the Walt Disney Company, which owns ABC, said in a statement to CNN.
"We made the decision because we felt that some of the comments were untimely and therefore insensitive. We have had thoughtful conversations with Jimmy over the last few days, and following those conversations we have made the decision to return the show on Tuesday," it said.
