Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba stated at the United Nations (UN) that Tokyo's recognition of the state of Palestine is only a matter of time.
"I am outraged by the statements of senior Israeli officials who seem to categorically reject the very idea of building a Palestinian state," Ishiba said.
For Japan, he said, the question is not whether to recognize a Palestinian state, but when.
"The continued unilateral actions of the Israeli government are unacceptable," he added.
At least 150 of the 193 UN member states recognize the State of Palestine, according to data from the Agence France-Presse.
