US President Donald Trump announced today that imported heavy-duty vehicles will be subject to a 25 percent tax starting November 1.
Trump announced his intention to tax "trucks" from abroad on his social network Truth Social.
The White House claims this is being done for "national security" reasons.
The measure aims to support American truck manufacturers such as Peterbilt, Kenworth, Freightliner and Mack Trucks.
