The Civil Defense in the Gaza Strip reported that four Palestinians were killed when the Israeli army opened fire east of Gaza City.
The military said it was targeting terrorists who crossed the "yellow line."
"Four Palestinians were killed and one was seriously injured this morning, in two separate incidents," Civil Defense spokesman Mahmoud Basal told AFP.
He added that the Israelis hit them as they were returning to the Al-Tufa settlement to check the condition of their homes.
Several incidents have occurred since October 10, when a ceasefire, the third since the start of the war, came into effect.
The military said Israeli soldiers shot at individuals approaching or crossing the yellow line.
Hundreds of thousands of Palestinians have returned to northern Gaza in search of their homes, many of which were destroyed during the war.
The Gaza Health Ministry announced today that 80 people have been killed since the start of the ceasefire.
