The Civil Defense in the Gaza Strip announced tonight that seven people were killed in an Israeli airstrike in the Palestinian territory.
The Israeli strike hit "a civilian vehicle in Khan Yunis, in the southern Gaza Strip," killing "at least five civilians," Mahmoud Basal, spokesman for the humanitarian organization that operates under the control of the Palestinian Islamist movement Hamas, told AFP.
Basal had earlier reported the deaths of two people in an Israeli airstrike in Gaza City, in the northern part of the Palestinian territory.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ordered the army to carry out urgent strikes on the Gaza Strip tonight, after accusing Hamas of violating the ceasefire agreement.
