The US military has carried out another attack on a ship suspected of drug trafficking off the Caribbean, announced US Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, adding that three terrorists were killed in the attack.
"This ship, like any other, was known to our intelligence services. It was involved in illegal drug trafficking and was passing through a known drug trafficking route and was transporting narcotics," Hegset stated on the X network.
He added that "three narco-terrorists were on board at the time of the attack" in international waters.
The minister confirmed that the terrorists were killed and that no US military personnel were injured.
Since early September, the US has been carrying out airstrikes in the Pacific, and particularly off the Caribbean, on ships it claims belong to drug traffickers.
Before Saturday's attack, the administration of US President Donald Trump had claimed responsibility for 15 attacks in recent weeks.
There were 62 deaths in those attacks, US authorities confirmed, without providing evidence linking those individuals to drug trafficking.
