Bolsonaro admits using a soldering iron to open his electronic gadget

Former Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro has admitted to using a soldering iron to open his electronic gadget, saying he did it out of curiosity, according to a video released by Brazil's Supreme Court.

Sentenced to 27 years in prison for the coup attempt, the former head of state was placed in custody after trying to break the leg brace he had been forced to wear since August while under house arrest, according to a judge who believes Bolsonaro was planning an escape.

In the video, the electronic nanowire is still on his wrist, but it is badly damaged and burned.

When asked how he did it, Bolsonaro is heard saying he used a soldering iron, adding that he did it out of "curiosity."

Bolsonaro was the president of Brazil from 2019 to 2022.
